Leonida opens up fast, but a few early choices make the whole game smoother. Before chasing story missions, spend an hour learning the map: drive the coastal highway from Vice City to Port Gellhorn and unlock the fast-travel points along the way.

Money is tight early on. Prioritize the pawn shop jobs in Port Gellhorn — they pay poorly but unlock the fence, which you will need for everything you steal later.

Buy the Little Cuba safehouse as soon as you can afford it. It is cheap, central, and its garage keeps two vehicles from the start.
